AI Course Fees in India 2026 — What Each Price Tier Actually Buys

AI course fees in India run from about ₹2,000 to ₹5 lakh, and almost every page you will read quotes a number without telling you what separates one tier from the next. This one does. The short version: the syllabus is broadly the same everywhere. What you are actually buying at the higher tiers is somebody being accountable for whether you finish.

Self-paced certificate
₹2,000–₹15,000
Live instructor-led
₹35,000–₹50,000
With placement support
₹80,000–₹1.5 L
PG / university
₹2 L–₹17 L
Section 1

The four tiers, and the one thing that actually separates them

Search "AI course fees in India" and you will get numbers from ₹2,000 to ₹17 lakh, all presented as if they are the same product. They are not. But the difference is not the syllabus — you will find transformers, prompt design and a RAG project in courses at every tier. The difference is accountability.

At the bottom, nobody knows whether you finished. In the middle, an instructor answers questions and marks your work. At the top, an organisation has committed in writing to keep working with you until you are placed. That escalation of obligation is what the money buys, and it is the only axis worth comparing on.

Tier Typical fee What you actually get
Free / self-paced ₹0–₹5,000 Recorded video, auto-graded quizzes. Google, Microsoft and AWS all publish genuinely good free tracks. Nobody reviews your work
Short certificate ₹8,000–₹15,000 One focused skill over 3–5 weeks, some live sessions. Right size for a single subject like prompt engineering
Live instructor-led ₹35,000–₹50,000 Scheduled batches, assignments a human marks, a portfolio project. Job help is usually a job board, not an obligation
Placement-track programme ₹80,000–₹1,50,000 6–8 months, supervised project work, interview preparation, and written placement terms. Ask to see those terms
PG / university badge ₹2 L–₹17 L An IIT/IIM or foreign university name on the certificate. You are buying the badge; the teaching is often the same cohort model

Section 2

Do the free courses first

This is the advice that costs us money to give, so take it seriously. Google, Microsoft and AWS all publish free AI fundamentals tracks, and they are better produced than most paid Indian courses, because their production budgets are not constrained by a ₹10,000 price point.

Work through one before you pay anyone anything. Two things happen. You find out whether you actually enjoy the work — a surprising number of people discover they liked the idea of AI more than the practice of it. And you arrive at any paid course able to skip the first fortnight, which is the part you are least likely to need.

What free courses do not give you is anyone reviewing what you build, a project sequence that escalates in difficulty, or anybody who notices when you stop. If you know from experience that you finish self-directed courses, the free tier may be the whole answer for you. Most people know they do not, which is what the paid tiers are really selling.

Section 3

The costs that are not in the fee

Compute is the one people miss. Training or fine-tuning anything beyond a toy costs money in GPU time or API calls, and courses at the lower tiers routinely expect you to fund that yourself. It is rarely mentioned before enrolment and it is not a trivial line item — a few thousand rupees over a serious project is normal.

Then ask three questions that providers answer honestly when asked directly and vaguely when not. Does lab or cloud access continue after the course ends, or does it stop the day the batch does? Are certification vouchers bundled or billed separately? And if the fee is on EMI, does the headline price rise once financing is applied — because it often does, by several thousand rupees, and it is almost never in the advertised figure.

None of this makes a course bad. It makes a ₹35,000 course that includes compute and a year of lab access genuinely cheaper than a ₹28,000 one that includes neither, which is not what the comparison table on anyone's website will tell you.

Section 4

A general AI course is no longer a differentiator

Two years ago, having done any AI course put you ahead. That window has closed. Enough people have now completed a generic generative-AI programme that the certificate alone says very little, and Indian search behaviour shows the shift plainly: interest in generic generative-AI and ChatGPT courses fell through 2026, while AI applied to a specific domain — AI security most sharply — rose.

That is the useful signal in the fee question. If you are choosing between a ₹50,000 general AI course and a ₹50,000 course that applies AI to a field you already work in, take the second one every time. An engineer who can secure an AI system, or automate a network with it, is competing in a much smaller pool than someone holding a general AI certificate.

It also changes what "expensive" means. A cheap course in a crowded specialisation can be worse value than a costlier one in a scarce specialisation, because the return depends on how many other people are holding the same credential when you apply.

What we charge

Networkers Home AI pricing

Since this page spends its length on what everyone else charges, here is ours — and one thing we do not sell. We do not run a standalone ₹1 lakh AI bootcamp. We teach one AI subject properly on its own, and we teach AI inside a longer programme where it sits next to networking, cloud and security. If you want a general AI career course with no domain attached, we are not the right provider and there are plenty who are.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much do AI courses cost in India in 2026? +
The honest range is roughly ₹2,000 to ₹5 lakh, and the spread is real rather than marketing noise. Short self-paced certificates start near ₹2,000 to ₹15,000. Structured instructor-led programmes cluster at ₹35,000 to ₹50,000. Institute-led programmes with placement support run ₹80,000 to ₹1,50,000. Postgraduate and university-badged programmes go from ₹2 lakh upward. What separates the tiers is contact hours, whether anyone reviews your work, and whether there is a placement obligation.
Why do AI course fees vary so much in India? +
Because the label 'AI course' covers three different products. A ₹5,000 course is recorded video you watch alone. A ₹40,000 course is live instruction with assignments someone marks. A ₹1,20,000 programme adds months of supervised project work and a placement obligation. The content overlaps; the accountability does not. Compare hours of live instruction, whether your work is reviewed by a human, and what is contractually promised at the end.
Is a cheap AI course worth it? +
A ₹2,000 to ₹10,000 course is genuinely worth it for one purpose: finding out whether you like the work before spending more. It is poor value as a route to a job, because nobody reviews what you build and the certificate carries no weight with hiring managers. Use the cheap tier to test your interest, then decide whether to buy accountability.
What does Networkers Home charge for AI training? +
The Prompt Engineering course is ₹10,000 plus 18% GST, which is ₹11,800 all-in, over one month. AI is also taught inside the 8-month flagship placement programme at ₹1,20,000 including GST, where it sits alongside networking, cloud and security rather than being studied on its own. We do not run a standalone ₹1 lakh AI bootcamp.
Are free AI courses from Google and Microsoft good enough? +
They are genuinely good, and you should do them before paying anyone. Google, Microsoft and AWS all publish free AI fundamentals tracks that are better produced than most paid Indian courses. What they do not give you is someone reviewing your work, a structured project sequence, or anyone who cares whether you finish. That is what a paid course is actually selling — and if you would not use that accountability, the free option is the correct choice.
Does an AI course guarantee a job in India? +
No course guarantees a specific job outcome, and any provider claiming otherwise is making an unverifiable promise. What can be committed to in writing is structured placement support until you are placed, which is what our Placement Guarantee* terms describe. Ask any provider for those terms in writing before paying — if the promise only exists in the sales conversation, it does not exist.
Should I learn AI or stick to networking and security? +
For most people the answer is not either/or. Search demand has shifted from AI curiosity toward AI applied to a domain — AI security roles, for instance, grew sharply through 2026 while generic generative-AI course interest fell. An engineer who can secure an AI system is more employable than one who has only done a general AI course, because the second group is now large and undifferentiated.
What hidden costs come with an AI course? +
Compute is the one most people miss. Training or fine-tuning anything real costs money in GPU time or API calls, and cheaper courses often expect you to fund that yourself. Also check whether cloud credits are included, whether lab access continues after the course ends, and whether certification vouchers are bundled or billed separately. Ask before enrolling, not after.
How long should an AI course take? +
A focused skill like prompt engineering is genuinely a one-month subject. Anything claiming to make you an AI engineer in two weeks is selling a certificate rather than a skill. Career-change programmes that include supervised project work run six to eight months, and that length is doing real work — it is the time it takes to build something a hiring manager will take seriously.
Is EMI available for AI courses? +
Most Indian institutes offer EMI on programmes above roughly ₹30,000, typically through Bajaj Finserv or a bank partner over 3 to 12 months. Check whether the EMI is interest-free or whether the advertised fee rises once financing is applied — the difference is often several thousand rupees and is rarely stated up front.

Not sure which tier you actually need?

No obligation, no sales script. A senior counsellor looks at what you do now and tells you honestly whether a ₹11,800 subject course, a longer programme, or a free track you have not finished yet is the right next spend.
