Define the prediction target
Decide how you convert progress into a label or regression target (e.g. percent complete, on-track vs off-track) and document success criteria and cost of false positives/negatives.
Predict OKR progress. Judge prediction reliability.
Predicting OKR (Objectives and Key Results) progress uses historical operational features and prior progress labels to estimate whether objectives will meet target thresholds. Key challenges include noisy or missing KPI inputs, label ambiguity about what constitutes 'on-track', and monitoring for drift when business processes change.

A proposed application: surface at-risk objectives to managers as a reviewable signal, not an automated decision. Humans should verify predictions before taking operational actions; this starter does not deliver that integration.
Decide how you convert progress into a label or regression target (e.g. percent complete, on-track vs off-track) and document success criteria and cost of false positives/negatives.
Assemble time-aligned KPI features (CRM, ERP, tickets) and handle missing values, leakage from future timestamps and categorical encoding before splitting.
Fit a simple baseline (e.g. scaled features + Random Forest) and evaluate with metrics that reflect business cost such as AUC, precision at recall, or MAE for continuous progress.
Expose predictions through a review UI, add data and performance monitoring, and implement retraining triggers and human-in-the-loop checks.
The supplied starter creates a synthetic binary classification dataset with sklearn.make_classification, builds a Pipeline that scales features and fits a RandomForestClassifier, then prints a sklearn classification report on a held-out test split. It does not load OKR records, KPI time series, or real business labels.
model = Pipeline(
steps=[
("scale", StandardScaler()),
("classifier", RandomForestClassifier(n_estimators=250, random_state=RANDOM_STATE)),
]
)
model.fit(X_train, y_train)
predictions = model.predict(X_test)The starter uses an artificial dataset generated by make_classification; its features and labels are synthetic and do not represent OKR fields or business KPIs. Results from this code do not validate performance on real OKR prediction and cannot be used to draw operational conclusions.
A proposed extension: replace the synthetic data with cleaned historical OKR and KPI records, train a model to flag at-risk objectives, and surface explanations and examples so managers can review and correct predictions.
This is a potential application pathway, not a delivered product. The supplied starter does not implement this service or validate it with real users.
