Define the governance task
Decide the decision boundaries, inputs to be logged and the success metrics that reflect business or compliance costs.
Govern enterprise AI decisions. Assess model and feature impact.
Enterprise AI governance platforms define the prediction or decision task, ensure models are reproducible and auditable, and provide controls for monitoring, rollback and human review. Important concerns include data provenance, dataset shift, explainability and traceable model versions.

Enterprise AI governance platforms define the prediction or decision task, ensure models are reproducible and auditable, and provide controls for monitoring, rollback and human review. Important concerns include data provenance, dataset shift, explainability and traceable model versions.
A proposed extension: surface model predictions and their provenance to compliance teams so a human reviewer can accept, reject or annotate decisions. This project is a learning prototype and not a production governance system.
Decide the decision boundaries, inputs to be logged and the success metrics that reflect business or compliance costs.
Train a simple, well-documented model with versioned code and seeded randomness so runs are repeatable.
Measure relevant metrics and inspect feature importance, error cases, and potential bias in slices of data.
Specify monitoring, alerting, human-in-loop gates and rollback criteria before exposing predictions to users.
The supplied starter generates a synthetic binary classification dataset with sklearn.make_classification, fits a RandomForestClassifier, computes permutation feature importances on the test set, and prints a model score and the top features. It does not use enterprise logs, business rules or any governance metadata.
X_train, X_test, y_train, y_test = train_test_split(X, y, test_size=0.25, random_state=42, stratify=y)
model = RandomForestClassifier(n_estimators=250, random_state=42)
model.fit(X_train, y_train)
importance = permutation_importance(model, X_test, y_test, n_repeats=10, random_state=42)
report = pd.DataFrame({"feature": columns, "importance": importance.importances_mean})
report = report.sort_values("importance", ascending=False)
The starter uses artificial data created by make_classification and a generic RandomForest baseline; it does not implement data provenance, audit logs, policy evaluation, explainability beyond permutation importances, experiment tracking, or any API/dashboard for governance. Results on synthetic data do not demonstrate real governance performance or operational behaviour.
A proposed extension: replace synthetic data with real experiment logs and decision records, add MLflow or a model registry for versioning, store input provenance in a vector database or structured store, and expose a small review UI that logs human decisions.
This is a potential application pathway, not a delivered product. The supplied starter does not implement this service or validate it with real users.
