Collect and clean transcripts
Assemble meeting transcripts with aligned human-written minutes; include speaker labels and noisy ASR outputs to reflect real inputs.
Generate abstractive meeting minutes. Judge summary faithfulness.
Abstractive meeting-minute generation condenses a transcript into short, human-readable minutes that may rephrase and merge information. Important challenges include faithfulness (avoiding invented facts), identifying speakers and action items, handling noisy transcripts, and preserving sensitive information.

Abstractive meeting-minute generation condenses a transcript into short, human-readable minutes that may rephrase and merge information. Important challenges include faithfulness (avoiding invented facts), identifying speakers and action items, handling noisy transcripts, and preserving sensitive information.
A proposed use: produce draft minutes for human editors so they can quickly confirm and correct action items and decisions. Human reviewers must remain in charge for any operational or legal use; this starter does not provide a production-ready system.
Assemble meeting transcripts with aligned human-written minutes; include speaker labels and noisy ASR outputs to reflect real inputs.
Fine-tune a transformer encoder–decoder (for example BART or Pegasus) on transcript→minutes pairs, and reserve a held-out test set for evaluation.
Measure ROUGE for overlap, and run targeted checks for hallucination and correctness of action items with human annotations.
Expose model outputs in an editor UI where users can accept, correct, and flag hallucinations; log corrections to improve the model.
The supplied starter splits six short, hand-written sentences with binary labels, trains a TF-IDF unigram+bigram vectoriser and a LogisticRegression classifier inside a scikit-learn Pipeline, prints a classification report on a tiny test split, and shows one sample prediction. It does not implement abstractive summarisation or any sequence-to-sequence model.
model = Pipeline(
steps=[
("tfidf", TfidfVectorizer(ngram_range=(1, 2), min_df=1)),
("classifier", LogisticRegression(max_iter=1000)),
]
)
model.fit(X_train, y_train)
predictions = model.predict(X_test)The code is a binary text classifier on six short sentences, not a summarisation or abstractive generation pipeline. There are no meeting transcripts, no summary targets, and the dataset is far too small to support the described task or meaningful evaluation of abstraction or faithfulness.
A proposed extension: fine-tune a transformer seq2seq model (BART/Pegasus/FLAN) on meeting-transcript → minutes pairs, add speaker diarisation and action-item extraction, and present outputs in a human-review interface that captures corrections for iterative improvement.
This is a potential application pathway, not a delivered product. The supplied starter does not implement this service or validate it with real users.
